Scientists and detectives can obtain clues of mysteries from modern technology such as DNA analysis and CT imaging. There are three examples: leech solving robbery, plant solving murder, and killed iceman.
First, leech solved 2001 robbery case in Australia. Detectives extracted some DNA from the blood in the leech that could have attached itself to one of the robbers and sucked his blood. Then, eight years later, police arrested a suspect on an unrelated drug charge, and it turned out to be the one whose DNA is same as the 2001 robbery's.
Second, plant helped solve murder case in Arizona. Lastly, the death of Europe's oldest mummy, now known as the Iceman, is deduced by analyzing DNA, along with X-ray and CT imaging. CT imaging identified an arrowhead buried in the Iceman's left shoulder, a wound on one of this hand, and a full stomach at the time he was killed.
In short, recent skills and technology provide impactful information and there are several events that proved; leech solving robbery, plant solving murder, and killed iceman. Can you imagine how much and far our IT would be upgraded further?
